US Cites Greece-Turkey Tensions, Ditches EastMed Pipeline Project To Ship Israeli Gas To Europe
The US seems to have withdrawn support to an eastern Mediterranean pipeline that was to carry Israeli gas through Cyprus to Europe. Washington has conveyed its reservations to Greece about the project being a “primary source of tension” between Turkey and regional countries. The US has also flagged environmental concerns and the project’s lack of economic and commercial viability.
